Constructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1941 1942, affixed with all four attachment prongs to a zink backplate with a field grey wool liner, indicating Heer issue), and fully intact paper liner of identical colour, unmarked, the shield measuring 52. 98 mm (w) x 61. 31 mm (h), weighing 28.
