Antique Japanese Taisho Era (c1920’s) Kiri Kodansu Personal Tansu 6 Drawer 24"W Plane Weight = 3lbs 12ozThis is an antique Japanese Taisho era (c1920's) kodansu (personal chest). Used for storing documents, money and other precious items it is made throughout of solid Kiri wood (paulownia) front and case. Kodansu chest were a special piece used to store one's most valued items. There are three lock plates but the locks have over time become inoperable and no key is necessary and no risk of getting locked out. The drawer and cabinet configuration of this
