Pair of Shandong Elm Stools l180 It is essentially a smallerShandong, circa 1900 This lovely pair of stools are from Shandong in northern China, made from elm wood. The square seat panels are set within thick outer frames and, finished with a dark wood stain and varnish, show off the attractive wood grain beautifully. The style is classically Chinese, with 'waisted' seats, horse hoof feet and S shaped stretchers set high between the legs. Other nice details are the various tenon ends visible on the seat frames
