I imagined that it was a very stylised portrait but found an old black and white image of the young socialite at a ball in 1945 and it’s a pretty good likeness
Quite a contemporary work for the current exhibition but I really admire the painterly quality of it
finished with a gloss varnish
subject and age alone
Their friend Man Ray took a celebrated portrait of Karin in 1929 that appeared widely in the French and British press
