Old Map of England & Wales by John Speed, 1611 - Rare Handcoloured Chart of the "Kingdome of England" Size:12x16in (30x40cm) 450 years agoThis old, full colour and exceedingly rare map shows the "Kingdome of England" (England and Wales) as it was in 1611. It was created by John Speed and engraved by Jodocus Hondius, and originally published in Speed's "The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britaine". This map was based on an early map of England & Wales by Christopher Saxton. They are both incredibly charming maps of the Kingdom of England really, two of the finest maps ever made. This map
