Vintage Japanese Hand Thrown Ceramic Tea Bowl Chawan 5" Obi Thick = 7"This is a vintage Japanese ceramic bowl known as a chawan (tea bowl) used in Japanese chado (tea ceremony). Showa era or mid to late 20th century. This bowl was hand thrown, hand painted, and high fired for lasting durability. This chawan measures approximately 5" in diameter by 3" tall. Having been in carefully stored or very lovingly use, it remains in very fine condition.
