Long Island City - Africa Shows from the southern reachesLong Island City It is now an area full of neighborhoods such as Astoria, Hunters Point, Dutch Kills and Queens West, amongst others, but this folding map shows the area when from Rikers island to the Newtown Creek, it was all just Long Island City, bounded by neighboring Newtown. Just prior to the Queensborough bridge, the proposed area of the approach to the bridge is shown. A large Blackwells Island (present day Roosevelt island) is shown, but
