Wooden Rice Basket d60 with its tail ending inZhejiang, circa 1880 This round wooden basket was originally used to carry rice, meat, and vegetables for workers in the rural fields and comes from Zhejiang, a Chinese province south of Shanghai. Crafted in pine wood, it has a two part rounded lid with one half removable, and an ornately carved handle.
