It was created by John Bute Holmes. This map covers what is now known as SoHo (or South of Houston). But, if that wasn't interesting enough, the map also shows the farmland that SoHo was built upon. It is a little hard to believe today, but at the start of the 19th century most of Manhattan was still farmland. Here, the map shows that SoHo used to be West Bayard
