Molly Malone The Talbots of Malahide One of our most fundamentalMolly Malone is a fictional Dublin character although she was probably based on a composite of various Dublin characters. and is the subject of Dublins unofficial anthem Cockles & Mussels. She was a fishmonger who died of a fever at a young age. Her statue is located on Suffolk Street and was designed by Jeanne Rynhart. It was first unveiled on June 13, 1988 as part of Dublins Millennium celebrations. June 13 was declared Molly Malone Day.
