Ming Chest of Drawers, Light Elm material-wood Traces of the original reddishThis chest in light elm is a modern interpretation rather than a reproduction, made for practicality but still with a strong oriental style. The Chinese did not use chests of drawers until recent times as they instead stored clothes in cabinets or trunks. It features the usual frame and panel construction with a simple apron below the lower frame and round brass handles that mirror the hardware on our classical Chinese cabinets and chests.
