東スイスの風景に現在も見ることができる、ヘングィトゥルメやトレックネトゥルメと呼ばれる木造の塔は、かつてこの地域が繊維生産の世界的な中心地として栄えた19世紀の名残である。かつて自身もザンクトガレンのテキスタイルデザイナーであったステファニー・ベヒラーは、これらの塔のリサーチを行うと同時に、芸術的な介入によって現在の塔を再び活性化させています。本書では、これらの木造の塔の歴史を、写真、記録資料、メモ、逸話、書簡とともに記録すると同時に、このリサーチを再解釈した作者のテキスタイル・インスタレーションを収録。現在の塔の写真と、リサーチによって掘り起こされたメモや記録資料を並置し、19世紀から今なお残るその塔の過去と現在を視覚的に再構築しています。ブックデザインは、アムステルダムを拠点に活動するグラフィックデザイナー、ルディ・ゲージュ（Rudy Guedj）によるもの。
