Polished fossil stromatolite. Eucapsiphora leakensis. EUC135 Jasper cut and polished on oneEUC135 Very rare fossil stromatolite slab polished on one side. Eucapsiphora leakensis. These small branching columnar stromatolites are from the Mount Leake Sandstone, Earaheedy Group, Western Australia. Location is near the town of Meekatharra. Age is Palaeoproterozoic (1. 6 to 2. 5 billion years). The environment they grew in was most probably a sandy tidal flat or braided river channel. Approx. 110 mm x 40 mm x 7 mm thick. 60 grams.
