Domaine des Boissieres Marcillac La Quille de Rouge 2023 Vintage:2023 with a touch of trappedLa Quille is a local version of Petanque, or Boules, a game found wherever the French can find a flat patch of dirt. Inky blackcurrant, blackberry, bracken, black soil, roasted red pepper and cracked black pepper. The palate is rich blackberry, iron rich clay, with peppers that linger through the finish. For all its depth and dark and structural intensity, this wine is impressively silky and refined.
