A Kriegsmarine foul weather rain cap, constructed of multiple panels of dark slate grey rubberized canvas. It features a crown reinforcement and wide brim, all held together with heavy stitching. The interior of the crown has a grey cotton rayon blended liner, stamped with a makers mark of WILLY SPRENGPFEIL MTZENFABRIK, HAMBURG 19, topped by a manufacture date of 1940, and flanked by a Waffenamt mark, and with
