The Insignia of the Society was designed by Major Pierre L’Enfant of the Continental Corps of Engineers

and was destroyed in an allied bombing raid in the early 1940’s on Pforzheim

and both measure 87 mm (w) x 137

They later emigrated to Canada

while three others have separated entirely

In bronze gilt with red, green and blue enamels, cypher of Carol I on the obverse centrepiece, dated "1877" on the reverse centrepiece, measuring 40. 8 mm (w) x 62. 5 mm (h) inclusive of its crown and laterally pierced ball suspension, intact enamels, original ribbon with hook and eye, extremely fine.
