In bronze gilt with navy blue enamels, voided, measuring 38 mm in diameter, intact enamels, numbered 21700, very light contact, original ribbon, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Army Distinguished Service Medal was instituted on January 12, 1918 and awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity with the United States Army, performs exceptionally meritorious service in a duty of great responsibility.
