Constructed of lacquered dark brown wood, the lid bearing a hand etched dedication of FROM HERBERT TO JANE, opening with dual functional hinge to reveal a hollow interior, fastening closed with a sliding clip, the base bearing an additional hand etched dedication of BERMUDA 1914=1915 MADE BY A G. P. O. W., measuring 10 cm (w) x 6 cm (l) x 5. 5 cm (h), in extremely fine condition. Footnote: Bermuda hosted German prisoners of war
