Japan, Empire. An Order of the Precious Crown, VIII Class Heer. A Flak/Artillery Hauptmann’s Service Tunic with minor oxidation visible toInstituted in 1888. In silver, oval medallion with floral designs at its four ends, obverse centre shows the ancient Japanese crown and bird of paradise, unattached to yellow bow ribbon, 46. 2 mm (h) x 37. 6 mm (w), very fine condition. Footnote: The Order of the Precious Crown was instituted on the 4th of January 1888 by Emperor Meiji. It is the highest Japanese honour for women.
