A cross pattee constructed of bronzed alloy; the obverse depicting an open ended wreath; the reverse inscribed FR TREUE DIENSTE IM ZOLLGRENTZSCHUTZ (German For Loyal Service in Border Protection) within an open ended wreath; on a double loop for suspension from a period correct ribbon; measuring 42. 80 mm (w) x 42. 93 mm (h); weighing 34. 6 grams; in mint condition.
