A 2Nd Midlothian & Peebles Rifle Volunteers Helmet Plate Newly Listed Monks Horton on July 21stA 2nd Midlothian & Peebles Rifle Volunteers Helmet Plate 1880 1888. An eight pointed star with the top ray removed and replaced with Queen Victoria's Crown. An excellent garland of laurel leaves surrounds a quoit inscribed "2nd MIDLOTHIAN & PEEBLES. R. V." The Cross and the Star of the Order of the Thistle surrounding a quoit inscribed "NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT". Two thistles adorn the bottom of the quoit with St Andrew and the Cross to the non voided
