Germany, Weimar Republic. A 1921 Upper Silesia Plebiscite Propaganda Medal, by Karl Goetz Archive built by Vickers-Armstrongs and launched(Volksabstimmung in Oberschlesien 1921 Medaille). Constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing a raised map of Silesia taking the form of a human face, with the border of German and Poland emphasized, flanked by an inscription of DIE GRENZE SELBST MACHT FRONT GEGEN POLEN! (THE BORDER ITSELF IS A FRONT AGAINST POLAND!), the reverse bearing a German national eagle in high relief, seeing off attackers embodying Poland and France, situated above an
