Canada Militia Volunteer Rifle Crossbelt Plate Auction Archive 10 (Patent of 15Silver, 64. 5 mm x 78 mm, intact brass lugs, very crisp, near mint. Footnote: From the 1850's through the 1870's, "Canada Militia" insignia existed as a generic emblem for various volunteer rifle battalions. It usually included the beaver in the centre, surrounded by the words "Canada Militia" surmounted by a QVC, and often incorporating a wreath of maple leaves as well.
