Turkey, Ottoman Empire. An Order Of Medjidie (Mecidiye), Civil Division, Ii Class Star, C.1880 Hold (AH Postkarten)(Mecidiye Nian). Instituted in 1851. Multi piece construction, center appliqu in Gold with red enamels, mounted to a silver seven pointed star base, silver standard marked on the reverse the star and on the cartouche, measuring 75. 5 mm (w) x 75. 7 mm (h), intact enamels, vertical pinback flanked by dual stays, extremely fine. Footnote: The Order of Medjidie (Mecidiye) was instituted in 1851. It was issued in considerable numbers by Sultan Abdlmecid,
