Silver, engraver marked "SPERANZA" on the obverse, 31. 5 mm, original ribbon, contact marks and surface wear evident on the obverse, edge nicks, bruised, near very fine. Footnote: The Medal for the Unification of Italy was established on April 24, 1883. It was issued in three versions: Type I dated 1848 1870; Type II dated 1848 1918; and Type III dated 1848 1922.
