Baden, Duchy. A Silver Merit Medal Auction Archive brass open-ended chape(Silberne Verdienstmedaille). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a leftward facing profile of Duke Friedrich, the reverse with an inscription of FR VERDIENST (FOR MERIT) inside of an oak leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 40. 52 mm in diameter, weighing 36. 6 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in better than very fine condition.
