China, Republic. A Firefighter Helmet, c. 1900 Newly Listed It consists of 1) AA well used example of a Chinese helmet, constructed of painted copper, with a rounded front and back peak. The crown features a painted copper comb, decorated with floral designs, secured in place with six rivets. Fastened to the peak of the helmet is a metal insignia measuring 115 mm (h) x 85 mm (w), and bearing Chinese insignia. The interior does not include any liner. The helmet is unmarked and measures 24 cm (h) x 30 cm (l) x 20 cm (w) and shows
