A 1909 Gordon Bennett Balloonist Cup Medallion Archive Upon retirement as a FirstA Gordon Bennett intercontinental balloon race medallion; in silver; the obverse depicting a balloon flight crew, artist marked Hugenin; the reverse marked OGN, Hugenin, and H. H; measuring 40 mm in diameter; contact marks and light patina; overall better than very fine condition. Footnote: The Gordon Bennett (Coupe Aronautique Gordon Bennett) was established in Paris, France, on September 30, 1906, and is thereby the worlds oldest gas balloon race.
