the Battle of Pa-to-cheau and the entry into Peking (during which the destruction of the Chinese Imperial Old Summer Palace was begun)

THORTON. 24TH) Naming is British Army engraved, cleaned, remains very fine. Footnote: J. Thornton is confirmed on the medal roll however is noted as not being present at the Battle of Isandlwana.
