Plagued by licensing and financial issues, it struggled initially. In 1985, under new ownership, it was rebranded with a New Orleans theme. Despite efforts, the property faced ongoing challenges, leading to its closure on October 18, 2005. The hotel was imploded in 2006, and the site now serves as a parking lot.
