Constructed of silver gilt, an outstanding enameled black Maltese Cross with gilded edges, the obverse centre presenting a silver Estonian Eagle clutching a sword and an Estonian shield partially enameled, the reverse inscribed by institution date of 24 II 1928, with motto Pro Patria (For Fatherland) along the arms, measuring 47 mm (w) x 46. 8 mm (h), suspended by replacement ribbon, with
