In silver, a member badge with the obverse inscription FOR GOD AND THE EMPIRE, the reverse is marked SG maker mark denoting Garrard and silver hallmarks including the lion passant, London city mark and c date mark denoting 1918 manufacture, with surmounting crown, measures 48. 9mm (w) x 63. 3mm (h inclusive of integral crown suspension), weighs 27. 2 grams (including ribbon), worn on original purple ribbon
