The scene was coming out of an era where the most popular bands were taking influence from the groove and style late 80s New York hardcore bands in response to the angsty and abrasive sound that was dominant just a few years before that. Trapped Under Ice released their demo in 2007 and implemented influences from the heavier side of hardcore,
