Turkey, Ottoman Empire. An Order of the Medjidie, V Class consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac A 1939 Großdeutscher Gaugewerbetag WienInstituted in 1851. In silver with gold center, star has seven triple quills with small crescents and stars between each quill, obverse shows Sultan Abdul Mejids royal cipher surrounded by an inscription, inclusive of crescent moon suspension 73. 2 mm (h) x 58. 3 mm (w), on original striped ribbon, near mint condition. Footnote: The Order of the Medjidie was a military and knightly order of the Ottoman Empire instituted in 1851 by Sultan Abdlmecid I.
