A Second War Italian 1St Division Alpine "Taurinense" Badge Hold scattered gilt and surface wearDie stamped bronze with a gold coloured wash and green paint, 53. 5 mm x 65. 2 mm, one die hole in each of the the three points for uniform attachment, contact marks and surface wear evident on the wash, very fine. Footnote: The 1st Division Alpine "Taurinense" was a mountain division of the Italian Army based in Turin. The Division was established on September 10 1935, based on the 3rd and 4th Alpine Regiment and 1st Regiment of Artillery Alpina.
