Old bottles are only re corked if the levels are down or corks need replacing in which case the wine would be topped up from the same vintage and then given a tiny dose of SO2 and re corked and then laid down for at least 12 months before labeling and re release. The Chateau has a remarkable library of perfectly stored old bottles kept in cool optimal conditions.
