Constructed of gilded tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle, with a frontal depiction of a battleship cutting through waves, the reverse with a block hinge and flat wire catch, designer marked ADOLF BOCK, maker marked SCHWERIN, BERLIN, measuring 43. 89 mm (w) x 57. 02 mm (h), weighing 31. 9 grams, the obverse swastika has been ground out
