Turkey, Ottoman Empire. A Crimea Medal (Krim Medal) Newly Listed 1946: the Medal for the(Kirim Madalyasi). Instituted in 1854. Sardinia "LA CRIMEA" Issue. In silver, measuring 37 mm in diameter, dark patina, bruised, edge nicks, contact marks, replacement ribbon, very fine. Footnote: The Crimea Medal (AKA Krim Medal) was instituted in 1854 and awarded to the military personnel who fought and defeated the Russian army in Crimea. The recipients were Ottoman, British, French and Piemonte soldiers. It was issued in three versions: "CRIMEA"
