Austria-Hungary, Empire. An Infantry Officer’s Shako Plate visually-hidden with original sash(Helmadler fr Offiziere der Infanterie). Constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse consisting of a double headed Austro Hungarian imperial eagle clutching a sword and orb, overlaid by a central raised coat of arms of Emperor Franz Joseph, with a clip emanating from the lower edge of the crown to accommodate an accompanying shakos chinstrap, the reverse retaining both lugs, unmarked, measuring 8 cm (w) x 9. 5 cm (h), demonstrating minor surface
