Rare 19th century carved pierced bone double gourd Japan. b4-bo202 Silver Colored possibly GeorgianRare Japanese 19th century carved and pierced bovine bone hollow double gourd, carved on the outside with geometric designs. Hollow. Screw top stopper. These were used as Netsukes with with metal mounts in the center. Measures 2" tall x 1" diameter at widest point. In Japanese mythology magical properties were attributed to gourds. They were also used as water carriers. Excellent condition with no damage or restoration.
