An Order of Naval Merit, II Class Breast Star, Red Distinction consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac which transitions into white cotton(Orden al Mrito Naval). Instituted August 3, 1866. In bronze, an eight point star with faceted rays, with superimposed red enamelled cross, a blue enamelled cross sits atop the red cross, with alternating castilles and lions in each quadrant, surmounting crown at 12 oclock, reverse bears a vertical pin with dual stays, measures 62. 0 mm (w) x 62. 5 mm (h), enamels intact, light wear to gilt, remains in very fine condition.
