He was awarded Iron Cross 2nd class 1939 on 11. 11. 1940 (as Schtzen, 6. I. R. 476), award document signed in ink by Generalmajor; for this occasion, Brgermeister of Neukirchen sent a congratulatory letter, in December of 1949; on 14.
