Germany, Third Reich. A Luftwaffe Pilot’s Badge by Friedrich Linden, Type 2A consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac consisting of a Cross Pattée(Flugzeugfhrerabzeichen). Instituted March 26th, 1936. (1939 1942 issue). Constructed of nickel silver and tombac, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the base by a ribbon, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a slender swastika signature to manufacture by Friedrich Linden, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the eagle in place, with a block hinge, repaired pinback and repaired catch,
