Hohenlohe, Principality. An Order Of The Golden Flame, Grand Cross Star, C. 1880 Auction A first war German medal(Hausorden von der Goldenen Flamme). Instituted on 25 December 1757. A French manufactured eight point star in silver with clusters of five faceted rays, the obverse medallion features a silver gilt Maltese cross with flames in each quadrant, the center presents a blue enamelled field with the motto IN SENIO (In Old Age), the reverse presents a single pin assembly with dual stays, measures 87. 5mm (w) x 86. 5mm (h), weighs 63. 9 grams, a lovely star
