The sword features an 810 mm long polish magnetic metal blade with a sharpened tip and unsharpened edges, and with a fuller extending along the length of each side. The lower third of both the obverse and reverse demonstrates bluing, in turn overlaid by a variety of etched and gilded decorations. The upper edge of the blade bears an etched makers mark of J. J.
