Germany, Heer. A Demjansk Shield Auction Archive A 1934/35 WHW (Winter Aid(rmelschild Demjansk). Constructed of magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a pair of crossed swords, overlaying a plane in flight and situated above a date of 1942, topped by an inscription of DEMJANSK, in turn set below a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika flanked by pillboxes constructed of logs, affixed to a magnetic metal backplate with an original wax paper backer and retaining a field grey wool liner
