In bronze gilt, presenting as an eight pointed Leopold Cross, enamelled red with a white frame, the obverse centre shows the initials FIA over a red enamelled medallion, circumscribed by the device of the order INTEGRITATI ET MERITO (FOR INTEGRITY AND MERIT) over a field of white enamel, the reverse centre presents the motto of Emperor Leopold II OPES REGUM CORDA
