The band found fast success with the release of their first album, Pretty Hate Machine, in 1989. In 1991, NIN were part of the first ever Lollapalooza tour. On that run, the band played the song "Now I'm Nothing" as an introduction to the track "Terrible Lie." "Now I'm Nothing" was never properly recorded, but a live recording of it
