Instituted 23 September 1818. (1864 1918 issue). Constructed of silver with Gold and multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of an eight pointed radiant starburst, overlaid by a medallion featuring a black enameled centrepiece bearing a Gold Maltese Cross, with white enameled arms joined through the quadrants by intricate Gold lions passant, in turn inset with a
