Germany, Heer. A Demjansk Shield, Missing Log Variant certificate_of_authenticity composed of the Joint Chiefs(Heer Demjanskschild). Constructed of magnetic iron, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised pair of crossed swords, overlaying a plane and situated above a date of 1942, topped by an inscription of DEMJANSK and a Heer style German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed mobile swastika, in turn flanked by log pillboxes, retaining an original field grey wool liner, magnetic metal backplate, and grey paper backer, unmarked, the shield
